In-cabinet fire suppression systems are designed to protect equipment that needs the extinguishing agent discharged quickly and all at once: large cabinets, extraction hoods, electrical panels, server racks, UPS and battery racks.
How it works
An indirect ("sniper") suppression system consists of:
- A mild steel tube containing the extinguishing agent
- A pneumatic indirect actuation valve
- Linear heat detection tube
- Steel pipes with discharge nozzles
- A manual release system
The heat-sensitive tube runs along the equipment being protected and detects heat and fire at about 180 °C. When the tube melts and the circuit opens, the indirect valve operates. The pressurised agent is sprayed from strategically placed nozzles over the whole of the equipment, putting the fire out immediately.
The system is fully automatic, and a manual release button is available to start it by hand when needed.
